Determination of hereditary predisposition for breast and ovarian cancer
Breast cancer is the most frequently occurring malignant tumour in women.
In terms of the effectiveness of breast cancer treatment, the most important aspects are early diagnosis and determination of possible risk factors.
The three main risk factors for breast cancer are gender, age and hereditary predisposition. Approximately 5–10% of breast cancer and 10% of ovarian cancer cases are hereditary. Mutations increasing the chances of developing hereditary cancer can occur in different genes. The most significant are mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes.
The health examination includes genetic testing of blood and a consultation with a doctor.
If during the examination any health risks are discovered, you will be referred to a geneticist for a more detailed consultation, if necessary.
The price of a health examination at Medita Clinic with an evaluation of the mutations of 5 genes is 390 euros and with an evaluation of the mutations of 33 genes is 1120 euros.
Determining the involvement of a known mutation in the development of a disease for one family member at Medita clinic costs 105 euros.
The health examination is offered in collaboration with Asper Biogene.
